 red Impact (WEimpact) pillar is pleased to host a dynamic huddle on “Clo
 sing the Gender Gap with the Power of Financial Literacy” with Ms Jean C
 hia\, CIO and Head of Portfolio Management and Research Office for Bank of
  Singapore and Mr He Ruiming and Mr Wei Choon Goh\, Co-Founders of The Wok
 e Salaryman. The discussion will be moderated by Ms Jean Chong\, FWA Singa
 pore Executive Committee – sub-committee for WEimpact . In December 2020
 \, FWA WEimpact pillar invited our members to participate in a Financial L
 iteracy survey. The results and recommendations would be submitted to the 
 Singapore Government’s consultation process on gender equality issues in
  Singapore and subsequently\, the release of the White Paper later this ye
 ar. The gravity and importance of Financial Literacy has become more criti
 cal in the aftermath of COVID19. Building on this agenda\, the panel discu
 ssion hopes to address key elements in helping to bridge the gap whilst le
 aning on overarching survey findings. Gender gap in financial literacy may
  contribute to the differential levels of retirement preparedness between 
 women and men 97% of our members regard financial planning as highly impor
 tant but nearly half does not feel sufficiently prepared for retirement. H
 ow can and when should millennials start preparing themselves for retireme
 nt especially when retirement needs forecasting comes with unpredictabilit
 y? Obligations to family members as opposed to knowledge is cited as one o
 f the top factors limiting women’s ability to be more financially litera
 te. Can the role of household decision making help reduce gender gap in Fi
 nancial Literacy? Upon starting one’s career\, ‘family’ is cited as 
 the top factor influencing how one manages their salary. How can parents b
 e more involved and engaging in being this role model? Family and schoolin
