Speakers Darren Miao Director of Impact Investing Darren brings over 15 years’ experience in the impact investing and social enterprise sect ors. Prior to joining SSG\, Darren was the Managing Director of RiverGen – an Indonesian mini-hydro development company which he co-founded in 20 12 after raising $30MM to develop a 50-megawatt portfolio. He previously w orked at London-based microfinance private equity fund as the Asia Investm ent Officer as well as at Kiva – the first online peer-to-peer microfina nce lending platform – where he was responsible for growing and managing Kiva’s network of microfinance partners in the Asia-Pacific Region. Dar ren also brings four years of experience from the social enterprise-consul ting firm Community Wealth Partners where he assisted numerous nonprofits in launching profitable business ventures and corporate partnerships. Darr en holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Duke University. He lives in Washington DC.
