PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear FWA Members:
  
FWA had another scintillating year in 2013/2014, organising 32 events including our flagship events: International Women’s Day celebration, bringing together a panel of inspiring women to share with us their journey, and our Senior Executives Lunch, a high-level networking forum designed for thought leadership and best practices sharing. We launched our first corporate members' engagement lunch, as our corporate membership base continued to swell as FWA gained industry recognition for being the platform to connect and engage diversity and inclusion teams in the financial services industry.  Our mentoring program, after only just two years in the making, was recognised with the prestigious Aware “Initiatives of the Year” Award.  As we continue to engage our members and partners and listen to feedback to better ourselves, we have an even more ambitious line-up this year. More details will be unveiled at our AGM on 27 March.

So join us as we share with you our plans for 2014/2015. FWA is the only platform dedicated to women in the financial services industry with the aim of empowering and mentoring women to success, both at work and in life. As we expand, we need more dedicated and committed volunteers who are as passionate as we are. We welcome you to join our expanding team, and be part of a successful non-profit association that serves the needs of its members and our community. 

To continue building on our success and momentum, we are pleased to invite you to attend our AGM to share with us what you would like FWA to do more. The FWA platform can only scale to greater heights with your support and feedback! 

This year's AGM will be held at the fashionable MARUKYU まるきゅう,  a designer decor Japanese Restaurant located at Telok Ayer Street offering fine Japanese cuisine in Omakase and Kaiseki style.  Launched by bespoke apparel designer Chong Han San and banker Danny Chong together with Chef Derrick Lau of Dezato, Boat Quay fame, Marukyu has quickly established itself as a premier Japanese culinary venue. 

For our AGM evening, MARUKYU will first introduce us to the art of proper maki making. While for dinner, Executive Chef Derrick Lau, who has over 22 years of experience in Japanese haute cuisine including 7 years with Nadaman in Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, will prepare a sumptuous 5-course feast of Sakura Ebi Salad, Sashimi - Kanpachi (Amber Jack), Sake (Salmon), Tai (Sea Bream), a delicious Grilled Dish of Hamachi Teriyaki (Grilled Yellow Tail with sweet sauce) or Australia's Wagyu Steak, some assorted Tempura Inaniwa Udon, all topped off with Black Sesame Ice-Cream.

We look forward to hosting this year's AGM and learning from the night’s Japanese cuisine experience. More importantly, we want to hear from YOU, our members, on what we can do to meet our FWA ambitions and goals for the year, and for the future.
